Autumn 2026 Style Edit: Colours to Wear and Two Outfits to Shop
Autumn dressing is one of my favourite ways to play with colour: rich knitwear, warm neutrals and a few well-chosen accessories can make an everyday outfit feel considered. For my first fashion edit on Life Through My Lens, I’ve put together two looks—one for women and one for men—that I’d style for a relaxed weekend, coffee catch-up or casual lunch.
These are styling picks from online listings, rather than pieces I’ve personally tested. The idea is to give you a complete outfit to start from, with colours that work together and pieces you can mix into your existing wardrobe.
The autumn colours on my radar
Burgundy is a standout in autumn/winter 2026 runway coverage, alongside brighter shades such as electric blue, purple and red. Espresso brown and teal also feature in this season’s colour reporting. You don’t need to wear every trend at once: one rich colour can do most of the work.
For these outfits, I’m pairing burgundy with cream and espresso brown, and using an earthy green with cream and ink-blue denim. Cream, brown and dark denim are the supporting shades that keep the looks easy to wear.
Women’s outfit: burgundy, cream and espresso

My women’s edit starts with Mint Velvet’s burgundy sleeveless high-neck knit and Levi’s Easy Dad jeans in a creamy white. I’d finish with the Coach Ella shoulder bag in espresso and COS brown square-toe leather flats. The structured neckline gives the top a polished feel, while the relaxed denim keeps the outfit easygoing.
The deeper bag and shoes balance the light jeans, with glossy leather adding a little texture. For a colder day, I’d throw a camel or chocolate coat over the top. This is a combination I’d choose for lunch, a shopping trip or an afternoon coffee.

Men’s outfit: khaki, cream and dark denim

For the men’s look, I’d pair La Redoute’s khaki jacket with a cream textured knit from Mango, ARKET’s loose straight-leg dark-wash jeans and dark-brown Timberland boots. The cream lifts the deeper colours, while the relaxed denim keeps the outfit casual.
I’d wear the jacket open so the knit’s chunky neckline shows. The dark corduroy collar adds contrast, and the brown boots bring warmth to the khaki and denim. This is a combination I’d choose for a weekend walk followed by coffee or a casual lunch. Dior Sauvage Eau de Parfum is my fragrance choice to finish the edit.

My starting point for autumn style
Choose one colour you enjoy wearing, then build around it with two familiar neutrals. You might only need a burgundy jumper, a brown bag or a green layer to refresh pieces you already own. There’s no need to buy a whole new outfit to borrow the idea.
Which combination would you wear: burgundy and chocolate, or green and cream?
